Diodes Added to Contactors |
5/17/14 - Wired up a temporary test panel and the distribution panel for a preliminary checkout of the electrical system. Total Time = 3 hours.
|
Engine Control Unit (ECU) |
5/18/14 - Installed temporary wiring for the fuel pumps, on/off switches for the batteries and the circuit breakers. Total Time = 4 hours.
|
Temporary Wring Completed |
5/24/14 - Installed oil pressure sensor, oil temperature sensor, coolant temperature sensor, gearbox temperature sensor, ampmeter coil and fuel pressure sensor. Wired up temporary setup of the Viking View Engine Monitor. Total Time = 5 hours.
|
Temporary Sensor Wires Connected |
5/25/14 - Hooked up the remaining wires to the Viking View connectors and tightened down the nuts on the battery contactors, 50 amp fuse and the alternator. Total Time = 5 hours.

ECU Connections Made |
5/26/14 - Double checked wiring according to the circuit diagrams. Filled the engine with 3.5 quarts of 5W20 sythenic-blend oil. Filled gearbox with 3 ounces of 75W90 synthetic gear oil. Started installing header tank with hoses and fuel injection hose clamps. Attached a ground wire to the header tank sight gauge protective cover. Total Time = 3 hours.
5/27/14 - Fastened a ground wire from the main ground bus on the distribution panel to the airframe ground bus. Filled engine with 1 gallon of Evans coolant. Total Time = 2 hours.
5/31/14 - Added 1 and 1/2 gallons of 93 octane pump fuel to the header tank. Started the engine for the first time. Yeah! Total Time = 2 hours.
Total Engine Electrical Installation Time = 38 Hours.
